Oxford City boss Mike Ford wants his players to focus on Tuesday night’s FA Carlsberg Trophy replay against Chesham United at Court Place Farm – and put this Saturday’s FA Cup tie out of their minds.

City hit back to draw 2-2 at Chesham at the weekend in a first qualifying round tie that Ford felt they could have won at the first attempt.

And he is keen to ensure their thoughts don’t wander to this weekend’s FA Cup home clash against Bury Town.

He said: “I felt we did more than enough to win on Saturday, but that said, the players deserve credit for coming back from a goal down to get a draw.

“There’s a lot of money at stake in this competition and this is the only game that I am worrying about at the moment.”

Ford is set to hand starts to Andy Gunn, Steve Davis and Mark Janes, who were all on the bench on Saturday. Liam Malone is suspended.

The prize for the winners is a trip to Arlesey Town – City’s 1995 FA Vase final conquerors at Wembley – in the second qualifying round on Saturday, October 31.

Banbury United replay at Bridgwater Town after being denied victory with a goal in the dying seconds in another 2-2 draw.

Boss Billy Jeffrey said: “We should have killed them off on Saturday as we missed three sitters, but I’m sure if we go down there with positive heads, we will get a result.”

David Stone is out with a foot injury.

The winners visit Godalming Town, of Ryman Division 1 South.
