SkipperIan Jeffreys scored a brace of tries Wallingford bounced back from four straight defeats to win 33-25 at Walcot.
Playing their best rugby of the season, Wallingford led 15-0 thanks to two Jeffreys’ tries and a penalty and conversion from fly half Pete Strang.
Walcot rallied, but flanker Will Woodward and full back Ralph Smith, who ran in from halfway, scored tries three and four for Wallingford, with Strang converting one and adding two penalties.
Visiting nerves frayed, and prop Kris Blaszko was sin-binned, as Walcot reduced Wallingford’s lead to 30-25 with four minutes left.
But Strang’s final penalty sealed the spoils and a morale-boosting victory.
