Chesham Utd 2 (Burnell 36, Wales 69)
Oxford City 2 (Steele 10, Pond 77)
Darren Pond scored an equaliser 13 minutes from time as Oxford City battled back from behind at Chesham on Saturday to earn a replay in the FA Carlsberg Trophy.
City could, and maybe should have been three goals to the good in the first 20 minutes.
But got only the one as Dave Savage played a ball through to in-form Lee Steele, who sent a delicate chip over the oncoming keeper and in off a post.
Mark Bell then saw a shot cannon off an upright and back into play, while Michael Alexis struck another effort against the bar.
At the other end, Richard Knight thwarted Leon Archer, while Danny Burnell screwed a shot wide.
But the home side levelled when a cross from Darryl Cox was parried to Burnell to score.
In the second half, City pressed on, but at times their passing went astray.
A cross from Bell was met by Pond, but he directed his shot at the keeper.
Chesham took the lead when a cross from the left was headed against the bar, but Steve Wales put the rebound in.
City had it all to do, but they deservedly levelled 13 minutes from time.
A melee in the goalmouth after Liam Malone’s shot was blocked on the line, eventually saw Pond find the net to give City a draw and a replay tomorrow evening at Court Place Farm.
