Banbury Utd 2 (Haisley 71, Forinton 77)
Bridgwater Tn 2 (Mercieca 43, Peppin 90)
Banbury were held to a last-gasp draw by Division 1 South & West outfit Bridgwater Town at Spencer Stadium.
They failed to impress their early authority until the 30th minute when Joe Coleman cut inside from the right, only to see a shot well saved by keeper Sam Hutchins.
Bridgwater went close with their first attack when Craig Thomas’s back-heel was smothed by Joe Murrell.
But the visitors took the lead two minutes before the break when the unmarked Graham Mercieca tapped home.
Banbury played with more urgency after the break, and equalised when a 25-yard strike from Nathan Haisley took a slight deflection into the net.
The home side pushed forward in numbers and took the lead in the 77th minute when Jack Ashton’s cross was met by Howard Forinton to fire home.
However, in the third minute of injury time, Bridgwater equalised when Sam Peppin’s 20-yard effort took a wicked deflection nestle in the net.
Banbury Utd: Murrell, Redknap (Milner 49), Martin, Stringfellow (Stone 57), Learoyd, Haisley, Coleman, Benjamin, Forinton (Stanbridge 89), Taylor, Ashton.
Attendance: 247.
