Sixty-five youngsters from four local schools line up for a photo at Wallingford RFC’s girls’ open day.
The girls from Icknield, Gillotts, Wallingford and Langtree took part in six different skill sessions and then played a tag rugby tournament.
Gillotts School won the tournament and received a trophy from Wallingford RFC, which was presented by England women’s flanker Maggie Alphonsi (pictured in front row, holding rugby ball).
She said: “There are some outstandingly gifted girls here today and I only hope they will develop from strength to strength.”
Girls who wish to play at under 15 level or above can attend Wallingford Maidens’ training sessions on Tuesday evenings or Sunday afternoons.
