Banbury United could be without leading scorer David Stone for a number of weeks with an ankle problem.
The former Rugby striker suffered the injury when he was brought down in the area by defender Alex Stanley in the closing stages of Tuesday’s goalless draw at Didcot Town in Zamaretto Southern League.
“It’s a massive blow for us, because we’ve got a small enough squad as it is,” said Puritans boss Billy Jeffrey, whose side take their eight-match unbeaten league run to Clevedon tomorrow.
“David is out for a while Jason Taylor has a knock and Ben Milner unavailable.
“So Clevedon will be a good test of the squad.”
Didcot Town will be without Josh Dutton Black (knee injury) when they host Hemel Hempstead.
On Tuesday, they drew 0-0 with Banbury to stretch their scoreless home run to five games and boss Stuart Peace admits he is mystified.
“The worrying thing for me is we didn’t look like scoring and I’ll be looking to bring in another striker next week.
“We were fortunate to draw. Banbury should have had a penalty.”
Abingdon United assistant manager Richard Peirson says the side must start performing starting with their clash with Division 1 South & West leaders VTFC.
Julian McCalmon is suspended, thou-gh Sam Elkins and Nick Thorne return.
Peirson said: “We have a stronger squad than we have had for a while, so people are going to have to fight for the shirt.”
“The players need to put in a performance or miss out.”
North Leigh welcome back Ben Reardon from injury when they host basementBracknell.
They will be without the services of Stuart Huxley (back injury) and Simon Futcher (ankle).
