Banbury Utd 2 (Taylor pen 39, Benjamin 50)
Halesowen Tn 1 (Moore 68)
Banbury recorded their first home Premier Division win of the season and maintained their unbeaten home record in all competitions against their lowly visitors in the Zamaretto Southern league.
The game came alive in the 38th minute when David Stone pushed the ball forward for Declan Benjamin to surge past the Halesowen defence.
Town’s uncompromising centre-half Henry Eze brought down Benjamin as he raced through on goal.
Andafter the protests had died away, JasonTaylor calmly placed the resulting penalty past keeper Nick Bussey.
Five minutes into the second-half, Banbury doubled their lead.
Following good work by Stone, Benjamin, who was helped by a slip from a Halesowen defender, netted.
Then Ben Milner fired over for Banbury before Halesowen pulled a goal back.
A mix-up between George Redknap and Marvin Martin let in David Blenkinsopp, whose shot was blocked, but the loose ball was collected by Moore, who netted at the second attempt following a brave save from Joe Murrell.
Banbury then had a good shout for a spot-kick turned down when Howard Forinton was hauled down in the penalty area.
