Yarnton's stretch of the Thames at Cassington came up trumps for friends Ricky Neal, from Hook Norton and Stewart Cable, from North Leigh.
The pair spent a day lure fishing, with some success, culminating in this beautiful 3lb 8oz perch (pictured left) for Ricky.
Using a small two-inch rubber lure, Ricky claimed a couple of very small pike, followed by pike of about 8lb. But the best was yet to come.
He took a perch of 2lb 8oz before landing the 3lb 8oz specimen.
The pair wandered up and down the bank fishing various swims throughout the day, and although Stewart didn’t have much luck, Ricky’s haul made for a good day.
I shall be having a go for some perch myself during the autumn over at Milton Pools.
