Four Oxfordshire youngsters let their legs do the talking when winning the final round of the PC3 British Pedal Car Championships.
The Brill 1st pedal car team, consisting of Guy North, Louie Ludlow, Jordan McCrae, all from Lord Williams’s School, Thame and Callum Nicoll, of Bicester, put in an impressive performance at the Curborough Sprints, Litchfield, winning all three races on the day to win their class and secure the British Championship in their first season.
The Championship, run by the British Federation of Pedal Car Racing, consisted of seven rounds including a ‘Le Mans’ style 24 hour race in June.
The custom built cars are Human Powered Vehicles (HPVs) powered purely by the driver.
North, the team captain, said: “We have covered over 1200km and have endured pain, sleep deprivation, rain, and the occasional collision.
“But I couldn’t have enjoyed it more.
“I’m proud of this win; it has been a real team effort with off track strategy as important as on track performance.”
