Tiddington's hopes of becoming the first winners of The Oxford Times Cherwell League's Senior Cup were blown away by Ed Shaw, who took 6-33 as Bourton Vale completed a double with a four-wicket victory in the final at Cumnor.
Shaw’s opening burst reduced Tiddington to 70-7, and although they fought back to reach 172, it wasn’t enough as Vale clinched victory at 173-6 to add the cup to their Division 2 title triumph.
Tiddington elected to bat after winning the toss, but only opener Riaan Krynauw (31) showed any resistance as Shaw swept through the top order.
It was then left to skipper Nick Pykett with a determined 58 and the tail to take Tiddington to their final total.
Bourton, who were missing the ineligible Ryan Newhook and Jaimie Noble, then found themselves in some trouble at 37-3.
But opener Matt Walton (69) was then joined by skipper Paul Lazenbury (64no) in a stand of 89 for the fourth wicket which put Vale firmly on course for victory.
Tiddington picked up three quick wickets to keep their hopes alive, but Lazenbury stood firm to steer his side home with three overs left.
