Wallingford were the architects of their own downfall as they were soundly thumped 42-10 at home to Salisbury in South West 1 East.
The hosts took the lead with a penalty from Pete Strang on three minutes, but Strang saw his kick charged down for Salisbury’s first try.
Wallingford were 32-3 down by half-time, with centre Pete Holton (retaliation) and full back Henry Venners (attempted trip) both sin-binned.
They felt aggrieved by some refereeing decisions, but also made a series of errors.
Wallingford threatened more after the introduction of Ryan Hodnett at centre.
They managed a try on the hour when centre Angus Brettell powered through and Strang converted, but still conceded two further scores.
