Gareth Hayward, from Oxford, dominated the Oxfordshire senior trials at South Moreton School, winning all five of his matches.
However, the Vikings player was taken the distance both by clubmate Roel Dullens, who finished third, and by Anders Marvardsen (Didcot).
Robert Hudson, also of Didcot, recovered well after losing 3-0 against Hayward (two deuce games) to take second place, while Joe Cheong (Didcot) did well to finish fourth In the junior trials, 14 year-old Anthony Howgego (Kidlington Forum) excelled himself, marking his recent improvement by finishing third, ahead of several more experienced players.
While Banbury's Michael Harrison topped the list, Tom Marrs, of Bicester, did well to finish seventh.
Kidlington's 12 year-old Jonah Stott also performed admirably in his first attempt to come eleventh.

The Oxford & District Table Tennis Association season starts next week with a new name at the top.
Last season's Division 1 champions, St James A, are re-branded as Kidlington Saints. They will make use of the new facilities at Crown Road, Kidlington.
St James are still represented by one team.
Nielsens return to the league.
Regular Friday night sessions have started again at the Ferry Sports Centre, Oxford. The new facilities at Kidlington are also open on Thursdays and Fridays.
