Young striker Aaron Woodley could feature on the bench for the first time, as Alfie Potter is struggling with a virus, and the timing could not be better as the U’s introduce a new lottery to support their youth development.
The 16-year-old, from Abing-don, has impressed in Uni-ted’s under 18 side this season, where he is top-scorer.
Fans will have spotted him in the warm-up at the last few games as he has been training and involved with the first team since scoring four goals in an FA Youth Cup tie.
It is another triumph for Oxford United’s youth devel-opment department, who this week launched the ‘U’nited Lottery.
The lottery costs £2 per week and all money raised is invested in youth development to help bring on more players such as Dean White-head, Chris Hackett, Jamie Cook and Sam Deering.
Lottery prizes to be won every week include holidays, signed memorabilia, cash, and tickets for the directors’ box.
Les Taylor, United’s Youth Development Officer, said: “The new lottery is a great way for fans to get involved and to help fund the stars of the future.
“We have some very exciting players coming through in all of the age groups and the coaches and staff are working really hard to help them develop as footballers.
“The lottery will provide regular, sustainable income to help us keep doing that and every fan who signs up is helping to build the future of the club."
Forms are available from the club.
