Trailing to a first-half Suzie Halsey strike, Merriman netted twice after the break to give Carterton the points.
Anna Jiminez and Sophie Tatford both scored hat-tricks as St Edmunds beat Chinnor 8-0.
Sophie Grimson (2) completed the scoring.
Zoe Taylor, Olivia Gardner and Jess Daniels’s second-half double gave Kidlington a 4-2 win over Cholsey.

Charley Hamilton hit a hat-trick as Tower Hill beat Cholsey Bluebirds 4-2.
An own goal made up their tally, with Jade Norris and Rubyanne Ryan on target for Cholsey.

Ellie Norton hit a hat-trick as Didcot Casuals saw off Chinnor 7-1.
Jess Walker (2), Kerri McBride and Natalie Dunford were also on target, with Saskia Wilcox replying for Chinnor.
North Leigh started their season in some style, recording a 6-0 win over Summertown Stars.
Katie Mullis (2), Jodie Luker (2), Katie Stevens and Georgea Winstone scored their goals.
Rebecca Ritchie’s hat-trick proved in vain as Marston Saints Angels went down 10-3 at Swindon Spitfires.
Chantell Perry (5), Tiffany Gibbons (3) and Cerys Waddle (2) were on target for Spit-fires.

Amy Williamson smashed a four-timer as Tower Hill Vixens beat Marston Saints Angels 5-3.
Katie Pyke also found the net, with goals from Rachel Mountford, Bonnie Lewis and Frances Tappin proving in vain for Marston.
Chinnor beat Oxford Bluebirds 4-1, with all the goals coming in the second half.
Lauren Knowler (2), Elle Kaplisce and Aimee O'Connor scored for Chinnor, with Heidi-Mae Miles finding the net for Bluebirds.
Lauren Talbot’s second-half strike earned Didcot Casuals a 1-1 draw away to Swindon Town.

Chloe Woodward grabbed a hat-trick as Kidlington Youth saw off Summertown 4-1.
Megan Walters claimed No 4, with Megan Reyment on target for Summertown.
Under 10
Benson came from behind to record a 2-1 success over Chinnor.
Chinnor took the lead through Amy Bennett, but Benson hit back to take the points thanks to goals from Megan Osbourne and Eleanor Seares.
Amberley Vircavs hit a hat-trick as Kidlington beat Summertown Stars 6-1.
Abigail Haynes (2) and Eva Wallace also netted, with Flora Kempton scorng Summertown’s consolation.
Sophie Riley scored a goal in each half as Carterton recorded a 2-0 victory over Tower Hill Vixens.
