Wallingford, the highest-placed Oxfordshire side in the Trysports League last season – they finished fourth in Premier 1 – got this campaign off to a good start with a 4-3 victory over Reading 2A.
But promoted Rover Oxford 2nd were given a tough baptism as they crashed 5-0 at Maidenhead 2nd.
Premier 2 side Banbury 2nd beat Henley 2nd 3-1 thanks to Ellie Craven’s double, and one from Charlie Matthews.
Ruth Clark got the winner as City of Oxford 2nd won 1-0 at Amersham & Chalfont 2nd, also in Premier 2.
Goals from Clare Hooper and Jenny Arthur brought City of Oxford 3rd a 2-1 victory at Gerrards Cross 2nd in Division 2.
In Division 3, West Witney 3rd saw off Milton Keynes 2A 3-1 thanks to a brace from Casey Pontin, and a goal from Fiona Fletcher.
l IN friendly matches on Saturday, City of Oxford beat Sonning 4-1 with Kirsty Brammer hitting a hat-trick and Rachel Lammey the other goal.
Chloe Guyett made her first-team debut and played well.
Goals from Kathryn Poulter, Zoe Salter and Henri Coles helped to give Oxford Hawks a 3-1 victory over Towcester.

Oxford Hawks 2nd lost 3-1 to Edgbaston, with Sjouke Tolsma on target.
