Wheatley's social XV pipped Faringdon 19-17 in their first friendly match.
Steve Welsh, Jonny Shelper and Stewart Hall scored Wheatley’s tries, with Ewan McKenzie adding two decisive conversions.
Darren Kenyon (2) and Nick Carter were on target for Farington, with Ali Winter converting just one.
Wheatley’s new side are part of a plan to revive the club’s fortunes after their first team had to pull out of league rugby last season.
