Oxford United are overjoyed at landing a massive sponsorship deal this week after tying up a new partnership with Bridle Insurance.
It is worth at least £100,000 to them in the next year alone.
The insurance company, who have their head office in Witney, will give 50 per cent of any profit generated by an Oxford United lead to the club.
The company, which is full of United fans, have arranged unique insurance rates for players, staff and fans.
For the fans who are already paying insurance premiums, it is a way of supporting the club without them spending any more money than they normally would do.
United’s commercial manager David Jackson said: “This is fantastic news for us. The minimum the club will receive in the next 12 months is £100,000 and this is ongoing, with revenue generated whenever people renew the policies they have with Bridle.
“They deal with home insurance, car insurance and car leasing, commercial and travel insurance so there are many different opportunities for supporters. “This is a superb form of raising revenue for our football club.,”
And in a message to the fans, he said: “Please support this scheme whenever you can as Bridle have committed to being a long-term partner of Oxford United and it’s a way the fans can raise vital money for the club.”
Spectators at the Kassam Stadium will soon see the extent to which Bridle are advertising at the ground.
They are paying for advertising boards and banners around the pitch, and 180 frames in the concourses around the ground, with posters being designed to go in the frames.
