Defending champions Pauline Withey and Steven Sheard were blown away 3-0 by Kevin Godfrey and Mark Trafford in the Oxford & District League's Pairs Cup.

Godfrey and Trafford dominated the match, winning 12,240-3,010, 8,730-1,920 and 9,820-790.

Terry Coleman and Les West went through with a 3-0 win against Masons’ Andy and Chris Webb at the Democrats.

Vikings Sports beat Didcot Conservative Club 4-1 on the Masons top in the opening round of the Oxford Three's competition.

New signing Pete Ewins got Vikings off to a flying start by beating Jenny Florey 8,340-1,150.

Mike Jones made it 2-0 by scoring 8,480 against Dave Tooke, before Stuart Florey pulled one back with a 5,900-3,500 win over Bob Allsworth.

Ewins restored Vikings two-game cushion with a 5,980-4,730 win over Florey, and Jones racked up 9,990 to clinch victory.

Comrades Club went through on aggregate scores following a 3-3 draw against Cowley Workers at the Berinsfield Club.

Simon Ellam (12,780) and Chris Storch (3,830) put Comrades 2-1 up, before Tony Harvey levelled.

Adam Thorn (6,330) played well to put Comrades 3-2 up, and although Sean Stratford scored 8,200 to take the last, it wasn’t enough to stop Cowley Workers going out on aggregate.

In the Pat Webber Cup, Ian Gordon knocked out his dad David Gordon 2-0 at the Vikings Club with a 4,580-1,720 scoreline.
