After one of the closest finishes in the league’s history, Six Bells Quarry clinched the Section 2 title in the final game of the season.
Any one of four teams were in with a chance, but Six Bells came out on top by beating New Club 3-0.
They started well, winning the opening leg 25-22, and just sneaked the second by the odd doll, 19-18.
Six Bells took the final leg 22-19 to clinch the title.
Tony Barret top-scored with a dozen dolls (5-4-3).
Chequers A left it to the last stick of the night to clinch the Section 5 crown.
Needing one point to guarantee the title, they started badly by losing the first two legs to Vikings 23-13, 20-9.
The final leg was tied 16-16, so it went to three sticks, which Chequers won to seal it.
James Bennett starred for Vikings with 13 dolls (6-5-3).
Red Cow retained the Section 7 title by just one point in a nail-biting finish.
They lost 2-1 at home to Brill SC which left the door open for Ashton Club to overhaul them. However, Ashton needed all three legs and could only win two of them, the damage being done in the second which they lost 10-9.
Despite going down 3-0 away at Six Bells B Kidlington, Littlemore Rugby Club were crowned Section 9 champions.
They only just lost the first leg 16-15, but then crashed in the next two 15-9, 17-10. Seamus O’Malley was in top form for Six Bells with a dozen dolls (3-4-5).
There were five sixes in the Premier clash between champions Cricketers and Three Pigeons.
Cricketers finished the season unbeaten with 99 dolls as they triumphed 31-29, 33-31, 35-28.
Paul Townsend (3-6-5), Mick Gosford (6-3-4) and Neil Lyon (6-4-2) hit sixes for Pigeons, while Ivor Clarke (5-4-6) and Kevin Baker (6-5-4) replied.
Kevin Giles finished with ten as he claimed the top doll- scorer crown with 220 dolls as George beat Red Lion 2-1. They took the first two legs 22-19, 25-21, but lost the third 27-24.
Under 18’s finalist Elliot Greenough made his debut in the league with a fine nine dolls (4-3-2) as Section 1 Champions Garsington Sports saw off Black Swan 3-0.
Legs scores were 20-18, 26-14, 21-18.
