Banbury Utd 0
Chippenham 0
Keeper Joe Murrell ensured Banbury’s sixth draw in eight outings this season in the FA Cup 1st qualifying round, which means that this evenly-contested tie will be settled at Chippenham tomorrow.
The first chance fell to Banbury’s Declan Benjamin who jinked between two defenders, but shot wide of a post.
Banbury went close from two free-kicks, the first when Joe Coleman’s kick was headed wide by Ben Milner, and the second when Jack Ashton’s direct effort went too high.
In the second half, Murrell came to Banbury’s rescue when Lewis Powell should have scored, but the keeper changed direction and made a superb left-handed save.
Sixty seconds later, it was keeper James Martin’s turn to save Chippenham when he cleared the ball off the line from Adam Learoyd.
Banbury: Murrell, Redknap (Stanbridge 80), Martin, Milner, Learoyd, Haisley, Coleman, Benjamin, Stone, Taylor (Forinton 82), Ashton (Davis 53). Sub not used: Gardner
Attendance: 361.
