Oxford United moved seven points clear at the top of the Bluye Square Premier after their first-ever win at Wrexham.
A 29th-minute headed goal at a corner by James, Constable, his sixh goal of the season, brought the U's a 1-0 win at the Racecourse Ground.
And with Mansfield losing, Oxford extended their lead at the top even further.
The match at Wrexham proved a hot-tempered affair with the Red Dragons having Frank Sinclair sent off and manager Dean Saunders sent to the stands.
And Oxford were also reduced to ten men just before the end when on-loan Rangers left back Steven Kinniburgh was dismissed after a second bookable offence.
