Champion Oxford trainer Ian Wills is to join fellow GRA track Hall Green.
The Forest Hill-based handler says he feels he needs to take up a fresh challenge after being at Sandy Lane for the past 12 years.
He readily admits that he has gone a bit stale and needs a fresh incentive to get his winning ways back on the track The prize money at Hall Green – almost double that at Oxford for winners – should inspire him.
Oxford’s racing manager Gary Baiden said: “We wish Ian all the luck.
“His departure will leave a big hole in the strength.
“But if he does not get on too well there, we will keep his position open here for 12 months at least."
Wills (pictured below) takes up his appointment with his 40-strong kennel next month.
Oxford have no immediate plans to replace him.
