Watlington’s Will Fotherby was a member of the England team which struck gold in the fencing at the UK School Games.
The 17-year-old Abingdon School pupil, who was ranked ninth in the individual boys’ sabre, teamed up with Soji Aiyenuro, Henry Walker and Curtis Miller to take team gold at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff.
They beat Scotland in the final after defeating Wales in the semi-finals.
