OCA Cup round-up
East Oxford’s second and third teams both reached cup finals as they posted convincing victories in the Osberton Radiators Cup and Keith Crump Centenary Cup respectively.
East Oxford 2nd beat Hook Norton 2nd by 68 runs in their Osberton Radiators semi-final.
Batting first, East Oxford were bowled out for 214, Javeed Faruq hitting 45 and Jim Williams taking 5-52.
In reply, Zahid Chouhdary took 3-44 as Hooky were held to 146-6.
They will play Great Horwood 2nd in the final after they overcame Horley 2nd by five wickets.
Adam Armitage (3-38) and James Waddington (3-41) combined as Horley were shot out for 132, before Neil Taylor (65) led Horwood to 133-5.
In the Keith Crump Centenary Cup, East Oxford 3rd posted a massive 290-7 against Combe 2nd.
Sagarkumar Patel led the way with 75, while Riswaan Abbasi (50), Usman Asif (45) and Urfan Ahmed (44) also shone.
Combe gave a spirited run chase, but fell to 222 all out, despite 96 from Matthew Purssell and 53 from Mark Francis.
Urfan Ahmed took 3-32 and Riswaan Abbasi 3-39.
East Oxford 3rd will meet Minster Lovell 3rd in the final, after they eased to a 56-run win over Swinbrook 2nd.
Minster scored 197-7, Steve Smith hitting 47, Dave Mayers 43 and Lee McGuinness 32.
Youngster Harry Ebsworth then claimed 4-36 and Mayers 4-39 as Swinbrook fell to 141 all out.
