OXFORD City javelin thrower Danielle Anderson agonisingly missed out on a medal in the Aviva England Under 20 Championships at Bedford.
However, as reported in yesterday’s Oxford Mail, the 16-year-old did enough in the event to earn herself a call-up to Team GB for the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOT) which takes place in Tampere, Finland from July 18-25.
Anderson threw 41.99m to finish fourth, but was only 21cms off a silver medal and just one centimetre away from bronze.
The competition was won by Tesni Ward, from City of Sheffield, with a throw of 45.41m.
