Oxfordshire Under 11s were denied victory by a battling Berkshire, despite an excellent all-round performance at Combe.
Batting first, Oxfordshire got off to a bad start, losing Aadam Samiulla in the first over for a duck.
However, this brought under ten player Jordan Garrett in, and along with Sam White, the pair played shots all around the wicket in a fine partnership, which set a solid platform.
Garrett scored 36, while White top-scored with 47.
Charlie Scott-Kerr (21) and Niall Devaney (28) continued the Oxfordshire momentum with a quickfire 58-run stand, and they finished on 208-7 from their 45 overs.
Oxon’s bowlers got off to a great start in Berkshire’s reply, and reduced the visitors to 4-2.
Gareth Rawsthone batted superbly for Berkshire to score 69, but when he fell to Samiulla, the visitors were left clinging on at 183-9 as they batted out the final five overs, despite Oxon’s best efforts.
