The young guns from Nelson A started their Oxford Summer League campaign in brilliant fashion by beating Headington Con Club 6-0 at home in Group B.
Ian Gordon had to fight for his two wins over Tim Jeffreys, 1,790-1,290 and 2,000-1,780, while Craig Mace scored 5,200 and 3,460 in his double over Sid Ponting.
The star of the night was Lewis Stratford, who took both legs against Graham Mildenhall, scoring 4,250 and 8,580 Gladiators Club drew 3-3 at home to Marlborough Club.
Bob Pincombe (5,290) and Phil Clark (2,660) twice put Gladiators ahead, but Chris Plant (2,660) and Chris Lagoe (2,990) squared the match at 2-2.
Plant (6,470) put the visitors 3-2 in front, before Clark (3,220) secured the draw.
In Group A, Dolphin won 4-2 at home to Bletchingdon Club.
Pete Soanes won both of his legs for the visitors while Chris Storch (3,960 and 5,380) and Simon Ellam (7,600 and 5,960) took Dolphin’s points.
