Cholsey A lost their unbeaten away record when they visited North Oxford A in the Wilson OLTA League’s Mixed Yellow Division on Saturday.
North Oxford fielded a very strong team, comprising of Jack Rooney & Hannah Booth, and Andy Sides and Louise Purton.
The foursome were just too strong for Cholsey, winning 4-0.
North Oxford are now certain to win this division and enjoy Division 1 status next season.
In the Orange Division, Banbury B were again in fine form when visiting a strong Abingdon B side.
Banbury were too strong, winning 4-0, and they remain unbeaten in four matches.
Resistance came from Jim Eastwood and Pam Gordon when they took Rachel Tucker and Gary Jackson to three sets.
But the visitors came through with a 6-0 win in the final set, making the tie a clean sweep.
Norham Gardens B had notbeen beaten in Mixed Division 3 since the beginning of April, but met their match when they visited Wychwoods A, with the home side taking all four rubbers.
Wychwoods’ Kate Young and Giles Henderson saw off Fiona Macdonald and Mike Best 6-1, 6-4 and beat Jane Humphries and Graham Willis 6-2, 6-0.
And second pair Jean Kloos and Mark Saunders defeated Macdonald and Best 6-4, 6-4 and overcame Humphries and Willis 6-1, 6-3.
Witney’s team of Ally Morgan and Derek Brown, and Helen Bush and Andy Dennis continue to dominate Division 4 with a 4-0 victory over Oxford Sports C.
They are two points clear of Oxford City A and Oxford Sports A, and are firm fav-ourites to gain promotion.
Meanwhile, in Men’s Division 9, Chinnor, having been absent from Oxfordshire’s Summer League for several years, achieved a 4-0 win away to Thame D.
The Chinnor side, comprising of Oliver Neighbour and Richard Howlett, and Allister Neighbour and Phil Ware, remain unbeaten.
However, with team shortages, it looks as though it will be a team of four Neighbours with Paul jnr and Tom making their debut in league when they take on Oxford Sports D this weekend.
