National Young Athletes League
OXFORD City picked up a fine victory in their latest Southern 1 West meeting, finishing 30 points ahead of Wycombe at Salisbury.
The under 17 girls led the way with 17 first places.
Emily Moore picked up victories in the long jump (4.99m) and triple jump (10.06m).
Emily Carstairs set a personal best of 9.97m in her triple jump competition, and also won the 80m hurdles.
Becky Hussey collected wins in the B string hurdles to add to her 200m and 300m sprint victories.
The hurdles and sprints also brought success for Amy Cooper, who won the 300m hurdles and 100m.
Melissa Hawtin won the 800m and 1500m, with Jade Walker claiming victory in the B string 1500m.
Debutant Zoe Gabriel started her City career with victory in the B string shot.
The under 17s capped the afternoon by winning the 4x300m relay in a time of 2.58.1.
Tilly Vaughan-Fowler won the under 15 girls’ long jump with 4.26m and also threw 23.37 for victory in the javelin.
Rebecca Byren triumphed in the B string 1500m, while Imogen van Zyl won the B string shot with a personal best of 5.66m.
Under 13 Amy Busby clocked a personal best of 21.2 in the 150m, while Beth Hawtin recorded 3.57.4 in the 1200m to put her third in the UK rankings for her age group.
In the 800m, Beth Mulvany set a personal best of 2.43.3.
Maxwell Jones won the under 13 boys’ B string 100m, while Alex Jones was second in the A string 100 and 200m.
Phil Collins and Jones then took first and second in the high jump.
City’s 4x100m relay team then brought the baton home first in 57.9.
The under 15 boys struggled for victories, but Matt Gain finished second in the 100m and 200m and won the discus.
In the under 17 age group, Marcus Woodington won the B string 100m and the A string 100m hurdles, and was second in the A string javelin.
Josh Flather, with wins in the B string javelin and A string shot, was also in form, but James Cody won the club’s athlete-of-the-match award with wins in the 800m, 1500m and 1500m steeplechase.
He also anchored City’s 4x400m relay team to victory.
City are now up to third place in the league, just outside the promotion spots.
