Oxford Saints cruised to a 20-0 victory against Nottingham Caesars at the Harvey Hadden Stadium.
The Saints were boosted by the signing of wide receiver and kicker Steve Belcher, who has rejoined the club from Farnham Knights.
Belcher scored from a 33-yard pass interception and kicked two extra points to help Oxford to victory.
Early in the first quarter, Phil Gouldie put Oxford in front, with Belcher adding the extra point to make it 7-0.
Oxford continued to dominate, and went 14-0 up when running back Chris Taylor smashed through the Caesars’ back line before racing into the end zone.
Belcher again kicked the extra point.
With Nottingham struggling to move the ball, Belcher snared a pass from 33 yards to scorch down the sidelines.
Although he missed with his kick for the extra point, it wrapped up a comfortable victory.
Saints head coach Chris Jones said: “This was a good win. It was important to get back on track after our defeat to Tamworth, but we still have a lot of work to do.”
