SHAHBAZ Ali and Anthony Bullick shared a club record seventh-wicket stand as title-chasing Banbury were held to a draw at struggling Slough in Division 1.
Shahbaz (82no) and Bullick (54no) put on an unbroken 116-run partnership to take Banbury to 205-6.
It rescued Banbury from a precarious 89-6, and beat the club’s previous best for the seventh wicket of an unbeaten 104 by Mark Rorich and Tim Smith against Basingstoke & North Hants in 2001.
New Zealand all-rounder Bullick then got to work with the ball, removing the top three in the order as Slough slumped to 54-3.
With spinners Jimmy Phillips and Paul Hill picking up a wicket apiece, Banbury were sensing victory with Slough 81-5.
But then skipper Bobby Sher (75no) was joined by Shazad Rana (37no) and the pair shared an unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 103 as Slough closed on 184-5.
