A superb century from Australian Aaron Todd condemned Thame Town to a five-wicket defeat against Finchampstead in Division 2 West at Church Meadow.
Thame recovered from a stuttering start after being put in to bat to make a decent total of 192-9, with Sam Lachlan (61), Jaydeep Bhatti (49) and Rob Brooks (40) all contributing well.
With ten overs to go, Thame’s middle order looked like posting a score in excess of 200.
But Finchampsteadbowled with great accuracy and variety to peg them back.
The visitors lost both openers cheaply, with Lachlan and Luke Merry taking a wicket apiece.
But this only served to bring Todd to the wicket and he struck the ball to all parts of the ground in a terrific knock of 124 to take the visitors to the brink of victory.
