Oxford University’s Garrett Ash romped to victory by more than 90 seconds in the Yarnton 5.
Ash had a decent lead after the first mile and kept pulling away to win in 26mins 38secs and smash the course record despite not going flat out.
Abingdon Ambler Les Newell pipped Witney Roadrunner Tegid Jones for second place, while vet 40 David Tame (Hook Norton) edged out vet 50 Brian Green (Oxford City) in the veterans’ race.
Headington Roadrunners dominated the women’s event with Diane Moore victorious in 30.37, which was also a course record.
Moore led home teammates Helen Barnes (30.55) and Laura Kyte (31.04) for a Headington senior one-two-three.
There was more success for Headington in the veterans’ category with Sandra Wolanski (33.34) winning and Adrienne Hopkins (33.55) coming second.
The race was preceded by a minute’s silence for Barrie Strange.
