OCA League Divisions 1-4
HORLEY consolidated their lead at the top of Division 1 as they thumped Freeland by nine wickets on Saturday.
Alex Short (3-14) and Olly Wright (3-16) combined as Freeland were shot out for just 68, before Harry Smith scored 31 not out as Horley cruised to 71-1.
Shrivenham moved up to second place as they defeated Oxford Caribbean by 47 runs.
Steve Bowles top-scored with 30 in Shrivenham’s 161 all out, and then Imran Khan (3-21) and Adam Tucker (3-22) combined as Caribbean were dismissed for 114.
Westbury moved up the table with a convincing 74-run win over Great Horwood.
Tom Boardman hit 52 as Westbury posted 167 all out, before Horwood slumped to 93 all out.
Elsewhere, Tetsworth rattled up 188 all out against Charlbury, who then fell to 95 all out in reply.
In Division 2, Garsington lost their top-of-the-table clash against Northleach Town by 30 runs, but still remained top.
Andrew Wellman scored 83 not out and Mark Larner 59 in Northleach’s 199-6.
Garsington fell to 169 all out in reply.
East & West Hendred’s Ian Clewley hit 90 not out to steer his side to an eight-wicket win against Hook Norton.
Batting first, Hooky were dismissed for 162, before Clewley’s knock and 30 from Ivan Mulford saw Hendred to 166-2.
Faringdon slipped to a five-wicket defeat at home to Marsh Gibbon.
Nathan Callow took 4-16 as Faringdon fell to 113 all out, before Will Hammond (40) and Matt Mead (30no) saw Marsh Gibbon to 114-5.
Fringford came away from Minster Lovell with a 45-run victory.
They scored 208 all out, Dan Noon top-scoring with 49.
Nathan Harris hit 49 in Minster’s reply, but they fell to 163 all out.
Watlington eased to a 52-run victory over Letcombe.
Steve Strong (40) and Charl Maughan (37) helped Watlington to 196-9, before Letcombe stumbled to 144 all out.
West Ilsley lead the way in Division 3 after they beat Oxenford by 47 runs.
Amit Rawal (67) and Alan Bloor (53) saw Ilsley to 231-7, before Sinith Chandran took 4-33 and Richard Beech 3-51 as Oxenford were bowled out for 184.
Witney Swifts posted a 73-run win at Stonesfield.
Batting first, Swifts rattled up 240 all out, Jason Seacole leading the way with 64 and Dan Sherbourne taking 4-62.
Sherbourne also shone with the bat for Stonesfield, hitting 56, but they were bowled out for 167, Graeme Woodward taking 4-43 and Alfie Saunders 4-44.
Matthew Burton took 4-20 and Laurence Harvey 4-22 to help Clifton Hampden to an eight-wicket win against Kings Sutton.
Ian Harris scored 38 out of Kings Sutton’s paltry 87 all out, before Clifton cruised in at 89-2, Morley Benson scoring 38 not out.
Westcott proved too strong for Eynsham as they posted a 118-run victory.
Phil Bateman top-scored with 69 in Westcott’s 247-7, before Richard Benwell claimed 5-36 as Eynsham fell to 129 all out.
In Division 4, East Oxford 2nd stretched their lead at the top as they thumped Minster Lovell 2nd by 165 runs.
Khalid Mahmood (68) and Javeed Faruq (58) helped East Oxford to 231-8, Stuart O’Brien taking 6-60.
Minster were shot out for 66, Ulfat Rehman taking 5-23.
Brill kept up the pressure as they crushed Uffington by eight wickets.
Ian Smith (5-23) and Jack Green (3-9) combined as Uffington were skittled for 73, before Oliver Bates scored 36 as Brill reached 74-2.
Robbie Nicholson hit 89 to help Combe to 218-8 against Charlbury 2nd.
Charlbury were then bowled out for 176, Dave Gardner taking 3-37.
Britwell Salome thrashed Deddington by nine wickets.
Chris Penny took 4-27 and Andy Worman 3-37 as Deddington were shot out for 145, before Stuart Symes (59) and John Chittenden (32no) saw Britwell to 146-1.
