Oxford United are unveiling their biggest commercial prize today.

They are giving companies or individuals the chance of an executive box for the whole of next season for just £500.

It is being done through a draw, with box holders who have signed contracts for the 2009-10 season entering for free – with the chance to win their box, if they wish.

The value of the first prize – an executive box for the season, a player visit and programme and anticipated media coverage, is put at more than £12,000.

There’s a runners-up and a third prize, but even if entrants don’t win one of the three main prizes, they will still get more than £570 of value for their £500 draw ticket, say the club.

That comes through them receiving 20 match tickets in the South Stand Upper, with access to the VIP bar, and use of an executive box for a meeting on a non-match day.

United chairman Kelvin Thomas says it’s the biggest commercial offer the club have ever made.

“It’s a massive opportunity for businesses in the county to come and join us, and be part of what we hope will be a memorable year for everyone involved with Oxford United,” he said.

“It is by far the biggest prize we’ve ever offered and one business is going to get a tremendous bargain.

“I think everyone will be getting value for money though, because even those who miss the big prizes will receive 20 tickets and have a great day.”

The Corporate Box draw scheme has been devised to bring in funds at a time when there are big worries from all Blue Square Premier clubs about potentially losing £85,000 if satellite TV channel Setanta goes under.

To enter the draw, call commercial manager, David Jackson, on 01865 337517 or email djackson@oufc.co.uk.

The closing date is Friday, July 10 and the draw will be held at the club’s official Open Day on July 11.
