Berinsfield's Tom Baldwin made a dream start to his ring career with a determined and polished debut victory in the Mini Minors tournament.
The lone representative from the host club used his extra height and reach to impose his authority over Thames Valley rival Lewis Powell.
Baldwin, 13, got behind the jab to land well to head and body to establish a convincing lead after the first session of the light flyweight encounter.
And he refused to panic as Powell attempted to counter after the interval.
Baldwin refused to become embroiled in a brawl, consolidating his advantage with by landing neat combinations in the final period.
Windrush Valley’s Matt Redman was the lone boxer to finish his work inside the distance after forcing Owen Flanagan into retirement midway through the third round.
Also on the wrong side of a narrow majority decision was Patrice Guillois against Bulmershe rival Zee Habib.
