THE Paddy Curtin-trained Farloe Ferdinand reached the final of the Scurry Gold Cup at Belle Vue on Thursday.
He now goes in the £6,000 decider at the Manchester track on Tuesday.
- MIXED fortunes for Oxford trainers on the open race scene. Paddy Curtin's Farloe Macho won by over six lengths at Monmore, while Tic Tac Gold finished second at Romford and Stonepark Woods was unplaced.
Tony Magnasco's three-pronged bid at Harlow proved fruitless. Altesse Eagle was second, Speed Shiraz and Swift Stirling were unplaced.
- PALGROVE Chief, a hound that has given great pleasure to his owners Ricki North-over and Rob Taylor, has been retired and found a good home by trainer Paul Clarke.
Chief, formerly trained by Gloria Stringer, reached the Gold Cup finals and won five top grade A1’s on the trot last year. A wrist injury curtailed his career.
- TRAFALGAR Cup winner Freedom Emma impressed in a trial for the Gymcrack when posting 28.83 at Hall Green.
