Queens Park Rangers have appointed former Oxford United favourite Jim Magilton as their new manager.
And the 40-year-old ex-Northern Ireland international will return to his old club on July 24 when he brings his Rangers side to the Kassam Stadium for a pre-season friendly.
Magilton, who joined the U’s from Liverpool and made 150 league appearances between 1990 and 1994, has signed a two-year deal at Loftus Road, having lost his job as Ipswich boss in April.
He said: "I'm really looking to the challenge of managing this great football club.
"The board are highly ambitious but they are very realistic. I have huge ambitions to achieve though."
