Liam Roche, who arrived at Blewbury’s Churn Stables last November with such high hopes, is quitting the state-of-the-art yard.
Roche has taken the decision after his dream turned into a nightmare when the British Horseracing Authority refused to grant him a licence.
Previously based at the Curragh, he signed a five-year lease and brought a 42-strong string to the yard owned by Swedish businessman Erik Penser, who lives at Compton Beauchamp, near Wantage.
However, Roche, who was unavailable for comment, has never been able to get them on the track.
