A 15-doll haul from Lee Thompson was not enough as Red Lion Eynsham lost 2-1 against Three Pigeons in the Premier Section.

Red Lion won the opener 25-24, only for Pigeons to level at 28-24, before sealing victory in the next 31-22.

Dave Townsend top-scored for Pigeons with 14 dolls (6-3-5) and Graham Wilsdon hit a six in his dozen-doll haul.

Cricketers saw off George 3-0 in a low-scoring game.

Cricketers won the first leg on a three-stick shoot-out after tying the leg 20-20.

They claimed maximum points in the next two legs 25-23, 31-24.

Geoff Townsend (3-6-5) and Philip Adams (5-5-4) were top dogs for Cricketers while Steve Walton hit 14 for George (5-5-4).

Ken Fisher hit a 4-4-4 for White Hart as they beat Cowley Workers 2-1 in Section 2.

Workers took the first leg on a three-stick shoot-out after a 23-23 draw, but White Hart took the next two 22-13, 18-12.

In Section 3, Billy Trinder rattled off 13 dolls (5-4-4) for Red Lion Marston in their 2-1 defeat by Gardiner Arms.

Lion won the first leg, 24-18, but lost the next two 15-19, 19-20. Pete Dempsey top-scored for Gardiners with 12 (5-5-2).

Chequers won 2-1 against Bull in a Section 5 thriller.

Chasing 14 in the first leg, they could muster only eight from six players, but fours from both Richard Dunn and anchor man Paul Whitman saw them to victory 16-14.

Bull took the second leg on a three-stick play-off after a 17-17 draw, before Chequers won the next via a three-stick shoot-out after the leg ended 19-19.

Dale Manuel was the hero as Prince of Wales broke their duck Kennington Social Club 2-1 win in Section 12.

Needing seven to win, Prince scored only two, but Luke Andrews whipped off four dolls, before Manual knocked off the winning doll with his last stick.

Prince Of Wales had lost the opening leg 10-7, but took the next leg 7-6.
