Aston Rowant turned the Home Counties Premier League Division 2 West table upside down in spectacular fashion at home to leaders Gerrards Cross, thanks to a remarkable innings by their teenage Australian Tim Miles on Saturday.

Before the game, Rowant were rock bottom while Gerrards Cross boasted a 100 per cent record at the top. Yet it was the Oxfordshire side who triumphed by ten wickets with more than 24 overs to spare.

Chasing 189 for victory, Rowant knocked off the runs in just 26.4 overs thanks to Miles, who struck his unbeaten 121 off just 69 balls with 19 fours and three sixes.

Keeping him company in a match-winning opening stand was Tim Morgan, who finished on 55 not out.

Having been put in, Gerrards Cross looked comfortably-placed at 130-1 at lunch, thanks to a half-century from Hamza Taj.

But Rowant skipper Wesley Morrick turned the game on its head, taking 6-89, well support by Paul Humphreys, who captured 2-14 in a nine-over spell So to their surprise, Rowant had dismissed the leaders for 188.

But that was nothing, compared with what was to follow as the hosts stormed home to move off the bottom
