Oxfordshire's Under 14s suffered a disappointing 81-run defeat in their final warm-up match against Northamptonshire at Banbury.
The visitors won the toss and opted to bat, and with Josh Megson and Connor Williams reducing them to 20-2, Oxon seemed well-placed.
In very hot conditions, Oxon’s bowlers toiled, but stuck to their task as Northants reached 211-4 from their 45 overs.
The star for Northants was Ben Duckett, who finished unbeaten on 136.
Oxon then produced a poor batting display and were bowled out for 139.
They lost Michael Forrest for a duck and Luke Finch for one as they stumbled to 4-2.
The only decent stand was between Sasha Barras (34) and Williams (22) as they put on 48 for the eighth wicket.
