Tight bowling backed up by an excellent display in the field led to a deserved victory for Oxon Under 13s in their opening ECB Cup match of the season at Gloucestershire.
Oxon were put in to bat, and played with great discipline on a very green wicket.
All batsmen contributed after openers Joe Barrett and Marcus Jeacock had created a solid platform.
Miles Hammond and Dan Matthews shared a fourth-wicket stand of 54, before the tail contributed to see Oxon to 154-8 from their 40 overs.
At 33-0 in the 13th over of their reply, Gloucestershire were well in the game, but slipping behind the run rate.
As pressure mounted, Oxon took full advantage, snapping up two run outs in the 14th over.
From thereon, there was no way back for the home side as Oxfordshire tightened the screw with a disciplined bowling performance.
