Barney Wilkinson starred with 67 as Oxfordshire Under 12s eased to a 37-run victory over Wiltshire at Urchfont.
Oxon’s innings was built around Wilkinson’s fine knock, and a total of 200 looked likely until Wiltshire spinners Harry Collins and Will Pascal turned up the heat on Oxfordshire.
However, the middle order stuck to the task to set a challenging 185-6 from their 40 overs.
Thomas Condon chipped in with 23 and Callum Russell 21.
Oxfordshire’s bowlers applied pressure from the start with Wiltshire managing only two runs an over.
Archie Wimborne was the pick of the attack with 3-17 from his eight overs.
As with the first innings, spin played a major role, with off spinner Max Mannering conceding only 17 runs from his fine eight-over spell.
Pascal top-scored for Wiltshire with 51, but when he fell, Oxon tightened their grip to restrict Wiltshire to 148-8.
