Oxford, who are still looking for their first victory, will be without left-arm spinner Joe Porter for their trip to Home Counties Premier League Division 1 leaders Henley tomorrow.
Porter, a coach st St Edward’s School, is unavailable, but skipper Jason Harrison has delayed naming his starting line-up.
Ian Crosby, Raj Sharma, who has been suffering from a niggling groin injury, and David Smith are brought into a squad of 13.
“We’re waiting to see what the weather conditions and pitch are like, before seeing if we need to play two front-line spinners,” said Harrison.
Oxford have set the pace in each of their three games so far, but have been unable to turn strong positions into wins.
“I’m really happy with the way we’ve batted as a team,” said Harrison.
“We’ve also bowled well, but it’s been difficult to bowl sides out as pitches have flattened out during games.”
Derby rivals Henley, with a powerful squad, have won all three games as they set a strong pace at the top.
“While we respect them, we’re confident that we have a side that can match and beat them,” said Harrison.
Also going well this season are second-placed Banbury, who make one change for their trip to bottom club Farnham Royal.
Talented batsman Chris Smith has a weekend back from Cardiff UCCE and replaces seamer Jamil Faruq.
A key to Banbury’s success this season has been the bowling of New Zealand recruit Ant Bullick.
“He swings the ball and hits the deck, and has proved a handful,” summed up Banbury skipper Ian Hawtin.
Thame Town, who are second in Division 2 West, will be without skipper Rob Brooks for the next two weeks.
Seamer Sam Lachlan leads the side for their trip to third-placed Beaconsfield.
Michael Beard, who spent last Saturday bowling to England players in the nets before their One-Day International at Bristol, returns to the Thame line-up.
Beard, a member of the Gloucestershire staff, is one of three left-arm seamers in the Thame line-up alongside Luke Merry and new recruit Seetal Patel, who destroyed Falkland with a spell of 4-11 last week.
Two other changes to the Thame line-up see Lance Giles and Ryan Murray step up from the second team.
Bottom club Aston Rowant have an injury doubt about their Oxfordshire batsman Alex Jewell ahead of their match at home to leaders Gerrards Cross.
Jewell suffered a bruised arm when playing against New Zealand in a World Twenty20 warm-up at Wormsley ten days ago and then dislocated a finger during Rowant’s defeat by Reading.
He is named in the Rowant line-up alongside Dom Whatman and Tom Needham, who have been brought in to strengthen the batting.
