Seetal Patel ripped through Falkland’s lower order as Thame cruised to a comprehensive seven-wicket victory in Saturday’s Division 2 West clash.
After opening bowlers Luke Merry and Sam Lachlan dismissed the top order, Patel took over as Thame cruised to a convincing win.
Batting first, Falkland set about their task on what should have been an easy track to bat on.
However, the pace of Lachlan (3-21) and Merry (3-37) proved too much as the duo ripped through Falkland’s batsmen.
And when new signing Patel was brought into the attack, he wasted precious little time in wrapping up the innings, taking 4-11 off just 6.1 overs to leave Thame a paltry target of 79 for victory.
However, their victory did not come without a slight scare.
When both openers fell for just 1, Thame were in deep trouble on 7-2.
But skipper Rob Brooks remained calm, ending the game unbeaten on 35, and sharing an unbroken fourth-wicket stand with Merry (26no), as Thame needed just 28 overs to pass their target and collect maximum points.
