Racing manager Gary Baiden was in a dilemma last Saturday night when, due to a misunderstanding between the two hare drivers, there was no one to run the meeting.
However, a quick call to former track employee Jimmy Hulbert saved the day.
The only worry was that he may have been celebrating Man Utd's Premier League title too much, but the meeting went off without a hitch.
- LEADING rails bookmaker RD Racing enjoyed their busiest night of the year on Saturday with turnover the highest in 2009.
The only problem was they still lost. They would say that, wouldn't they!
- NICE to be on the receiving end for a change. Normally I take the pictures at presentations, but when Cerberus popped in at 5-1 in the Cross Roads Garage Megan Challenge, yours truly had to step up for the picture and get in the queue at the Tote, where it paid £42.20 for the forecast.
Cerberus trainer Paul Clarke is awaiting a BGRB inspection in his new kennel block.
- THERE were bags of winners for trainer Steve Rayner. He brought home three at Friday's meeting then whipped in the first three at Sunday's BAGS meeting.
