Susan Keet (pictured) stole the show with four golds at the Vale of White Horse Schools’ Athletics Trials at Radley College.

The youngster from King Alfred’s Community & Sports College, Wantage, reeled off a sprint double, taking the intermediate girls’ 100m in 12.9secs and the 200m in 27.2.

She also won the long jump with 5.15m and the 75m hurdles in 13.9.

Kim Sutherland, of John Mason, Abingdon, did the double in the junior girls’ sprints, burning up the track to take the 100m in 13.2 and the 200m in 28.4.

In the boys’ competition, Abingdon School’s Peter Barnshaw finished his GCSE Latin exam in time to win the 400m in 52.7 and the 100m hurdles in 15.1.

The Vale’s leading athletes now go forward to represent the district at the Oxfordshire Schools’ Championships at Abingdon’s Tilsley Park on Sunday, June 14.
