Oxford City gained the bragging rights as they beat Radley into second place in their Southern Men’s League Division 3 match at Tilsley Park.

City finished with 110.5 points – seeing off Radley by almost 15 points to take victory.

Ben Kelsey was the undoubted star of the show for City, as he secured maximum points in all four throwing events.

He won the A string hammer with 33.46m, shot with 11.20 and discus with 43.68, before also recording victory in the B string javelin with a throw of 35.33.

Andrew Tippet also took maximum points in the 400m hurdles and 110m hurdles, while new sprint sensation Ashley Johnson took a double, beating Radley’s Ben Owen in both the 100 and 200m in 11.0 secs and 22.5secs respectively.

In the B string 100m, Oxford City’s David Gain won in 11.4, just edging out under 17 Radley athlete Andrew Potter, who clocked a personal best and club record of 11.5.

Johnson also won the long jump with a fine leap of 6.24m.
