Banbury's Jenny Nunneley picked up the inaugural national club coach of the year award at hockey’s big night.
She has spent the last eight years building Banbury’s youth section, from fewer than 50 participating children to almost 200.
Nunneley drove Banbury’s ClubsFirst accreditation and now coaches voluntarily for three hours every Tuesday, as well as looking after the Oxfordshire Under 15s. Setting up partnerships with five schools in the area, she runs taster sessions with them, helping 30 of Banbury’s junior players progress to the county squads this year.
She has also helped gain Sportsmark sponsorship for the club for three years.
Nunneley said: "My thanks go to everyone at the club who make my role so enjoyable and particularly to all of the juniors who make it so rewarding.”
